You’ve completed the  Essential P.A.U.S.E. for Educators and you realized the transformative power of P.A.U.S.E. in your own life. You are naturally an ambassador, applying P.A.U.S.E implicitly and maybe even explicitly in your day, in your role.

And, you wish to offer more.  You see the great need in your community amongst students and adults alike.  You want to dive into your own study and practice of P.A.U.S.E. as a holistic framework for community well-being. You want to discover how you can serve as Champion Self-Leadership in your role- in the subtleties of daily relationships, in the curricular approach to well-being for students, in the structures of school life.  Whether you are educators, administrators, school mental health practitioners, or community leader, you are ready to join us for the Champions journey.

 In the Champions track we explore many applications of P.A.U.S.E. as well as fields of knowledge that underpin and verify our work.

  • Student Social and Emotional Learning: Equip yourself with the skills to teach the core concepts and skills of P.A.U.S.E. to your students.
  • Mental Health in Schools: Discover how to effectively apply P.A.U.S.E. principles when supporting students, teachers, and families facing various challenges, both for acute intervention and sustained services.
  • Learning Differences: Gain insights into the common parts exhibited by students with learning struggles. Shift perspectives and transform your approach to better support their unique needs following P.A.U.S.E.
  • Attachment: Understand the interpersonal dynamics between adults and children, especially in relation to trauma and family systems. Learn strategies to foster healthy attachment within the educational environment.
  • Neuroscience: Explore the scientific foundations that support the relevance and effectiveness of the P.A.U.S.E. model. Deepen your understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of social and emotional learning.
  • Embodiment: Integrate somatic and physical practices into your school setting. Discover how embodied practices enhance the application of the P.A.U.S.E. model.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Develop sensitivity and awareness of internal systems and external experiences that can both perpetuate harm or unlock collective healing.. Learn to create a more welcoming and equitable environment for all with understanding of parts and Self.
  • Adult Well-Being: Share and integrate the practice of the P.A.U.S.E. model with your fellow faculty and staff members.  Foster a culture of well-being within your school community.
  • Complementary models: Consider how the P.A.U.S.E. model complements and at times integrates many existing SEL approaches in schools such as mindfulness and restorative practices.
  • Systems thinking, consultation and theories of change: Appreciate how to see and influence the play of Self and parts in a school community. Discover how to support parts of the system to work together with greater harmony as you uncover the “Self” in the whole school system.

The Essential P.A.U.S.E. for Educators: 8 Module Ambassador Series

WHAT WILL WE DO TOGETHER?

FULL COHORT Session Includes Three Components: (5 hours monthly)

  • P.A.U.S.E. for Self-Discovery - guided reflection and individual practice followed by small and large group discussion to deepen our own application of the model.
  • P.A.U.S.E. for Community Transformation: contemplate, explore and share how you are applying P.A.U.S.E. in your unique settings and join colleagues in a “workshop” format to celebrate discoveries, share knowledge, acknowledge best practices and explore possibilities to optimize the practice of Self-Leadership in your distinct setting.
  • P.A.U.S.E. as holistic practice and process: Explore and practice principles and concepts from IFS and other models embedded in P.A.U.S.E. to enhance your capacity for effective implementation. Through a variety of interactive and experiential learning modalities you will expand your knowledge and confidence to lead and teach P.A.U.S.E. in your community.

INDIVIDUAL PRACTICE AND STUDY: 1 hr a week (on average)

  • To deepen and apply learning, you are expected to fulfill individual work such as readings, videos, writing, or commenting on shared blog posts.  

What can you do upon successful completion of this workshop series? As an SLC Champion…

  • You will be certified as a Self-Leadership Collaborative Champion.
  • You will be equipped to lead SLC events in your community: Introductory workshops and retreats, P.A.U.S.E. Activities for staff and students.  
  • You can guide your colleagues and students in understanding and following the P.A.U.S.E. process and the practices within it as an everyday way of interacting.
  • You can lead community processes and meetings integrating the P.A.U.S.E. model.
  • You can implement the P.A.U.S.E. curricular framework for student and staff well-being.
  • You can inspire and lead ongoing discussions to move your community toward authentically discovering and sustaining Self-Leadership as their way of being.
  • You receive access to the SLC Library: P.A.U.S.E. curricular framework, P.A.U.S.E. Activity Menus, workshop templates and more for two years (the year you are enrolled in the champions track and one year beyond).
  • You can prepare to teach “P.A.U.S.E. for Educators”, our 8 module ambassador track. Following serving as a Teaching Assistant for one cohort and a co-lead for a second cohort, if then approved by SLC, you can offer this workshop series in your community. (Note: registration for this event will take place through the SLC website and you will receive a percentage of proceeds for teaching the workshop).

The Self-Leadership Collaborative has an ever growing and rich community of practitioners around the globe. Following completion of the Champions track, to nourish your practice, continue access to our cutting edge materials and maintain certification to lead your community, you will be invited to join in on-going study, practice and discussion of discoveries and best practices.

Possible opportunities include:

  • Monthly Global Collaborators Consultation Group: sharing  updates, breakthroughs and questions and answers.
  • On-going access to the SLC library with most up-to-date resources and templates for SLC school integration.
  • Continuing to co-lead or TA the Essential P.A.U.S.E. for Educators.
  • Offering unique workshops and practice spaces through SLC for our global community and more!
