Effective
Practice the essential shift to optimally engage, collaborate and contribute.
School and communities are more challenged than ever. We see...
- STUDENTS: More dis-regulated and dis-engaged, struggling to find interest, focus, connection and self-worth.
- TEACHERS: Increasingly overwhelmed, frustrated, disillusioned and opting to leave the profession.
- FAMILIES: Stressed as they try to juggle the demands of daily life and sustain healthy relationships with each other.
- MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS: Overwhelmed by the growing demand for services and stretched thin by daily responsibilities complicated by acute crises.
- LEADERS: Concerned by the profound need they see in their communities and discouraged with how many "solutions" don't really bring relief.
How do we nurture sustainable well-being in our communities?
We need a simple approach to everyday interactions that at supports adult well- being AND allows us to effectively coach young people through daily challenges.
The Self-Leadership Collaborative provides a profound and practical paradigm-shift in how we are being together in our everyday relationships. The keys to this are contained in the P.A.U.S.E model. As we practice P.A.U.S.E. we build our capacity to:
- Increase self-awareness
- Self-regulate and express emotions effectively
- Build compassionate and collaborative relationships
- Embrace challenges with courage and confidence
- Contribute constructively to the school and larger community
- Engage deeply in teaching and learning
P.A.U.S.E is
Intuitive. Innovative. Integrative.
The P.A.U.S.E model offers a simple practice and process for everyday interactions that helps you show up as your best self and call forth the true potential in those around you.
It's easy-to-follow steps help everyone move together through challenges and contribute to productive, collaborative solutions.
P.A.U.S.E integrates mindfulness, trauma-informed practices and cutting-edge psychological frameworks (especially Internal Family Systems or IFS).
It can be applied to transform your personal well being, your everyday relationships with young people, and ultimately the very fabric of school culture.
In this workshop you will:
- Learn the core concepts and skills in the P.A.U.S.E. model, inspired by IFS.
- Be guided in reflective exercises to experience the simple and powerful steps of the P.A.U.S.E. model.
- Join with fellow colleagues to consider the relevance and application of P.A.U.S.E. personally and professionally.
Here's what one teacher said after participating in "Introduction to the Power of P.A.U.S.E."
"Many professional development opportunities provide helpful ideas and meaningful information. My experience of learning The Power of Pause covered that and so much more. The content and delivery really drew me in and encouraged a fully embodied experience where the information was learned, practiced and understood deeply on many levels. This led to a more immediate immersion of the mindset and tools which ultimately benefited myself as an educator, and the colleagues and the students I work with. Joanna has a way of providing a fully experiential opportunity which embeds the process in the heart. I am so grateful for this model and the way the training is offered. "
